Our Commitments
Charity and community support
For 2024, our chosen charities are the British Heart Foundation & Treedom.
We’re proud to support two charities the British Heart Foundation & Treedom. Treedom is a platform that allows anyone to plant trees from a distance and follow the story of the project online. Treedom also allows the ‘owner’s of the planted trees to receive images of the trees that have just been planted along with its GPS coordinates and updates from the project
We’re also supporting the British Heart Foundation (BHF), the leading charity for researching and curing all heart and circulatory diseases. They fund around £100 million of life-saving research projects each year.
In addition to making an annual donation, we will strive to contribute and support their fundraising activities whenever possible.
We will donate all proceeds from any fundraising or sponsorship activities within our organisation to our charities of choice. We also aim to support other local or national charities which approach us directly or of personal significance to a member of our team.
Freightline’s success depends on the strength of our communities. We encourage our colleagues to get involved by giving them the flexibility to alter their working hours to support volunteering. This way, they can donate their time to causes they’re passionate about while still meeting their commitments.
Environment and sustainability
At Freightline we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and fostering sustainability in the logistics industry. As part of our ongoing commitment, we have implemented a range of eco-friendly initiatives, as well as partnering with Treedom, a leading environmental organisation.
Tree-Planting Partnership with Treedom
Through our collaboration with Treedom, we are actively contributing to reforestation efforts worldwide. As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we will plant trees through Treedom’s innovative platform, ensuring a positive impact on the planet with each dedicated tree planted. This initiative helps combat deforestation and supports a greener future for generations to come.
Reducing Energy Consumption
We are continuously striving to minimise our energy usage. One of the ways we achieve this is by optimising transportation routes to reduce the use of fuel. By planning more efficient routes, we not only save on fuel costs but also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Green Living: Moss Wall at Our New Office
We take pride in our new office space, where we’ve incorporated a beautiful moss wall, providing a natural and vibrant touch to our workplace. Not only does this create a healthier environment for our employees, but it also represents our dedication to sustainable design.
Waste Reduction and Recycling
We are committed to minimising waste generation throughout our operations. By promoting recycling initiatives, we strive to ensure that materials are repurposed and contribute to a circular economy.
Paperless Invoices and Reduced Printing
In an effort to minimise paper usage, we have embraced a paperless invoicing system. Digital invoices not only streamline processes but also significantly reduce our paper consumption, contributing to a greener planet.
Promoting Sustainable Materials
We are committed to using sustainable materials wherever possible. Our dedication to sustainability extends to all aspects of our operations, including the use of all our marketing material. By opting for sustainable, recycled, and recyclable materials, we aim to minimise waste and support a circular economy.
Salary Sacrifice – Car Scheme
Our new car scheme allows employees to lease electric or hybrid vehicles through salary sacrifice, promoting greener commuting options and reducing our overall carbon footprint.
Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
We are exploring and implementing renewable energy solutions, including solar panels at our facilities, while continuously optimising transportation routes to save fuel and reduce greenhouse gas emissions..
ISO 14001 Certification
We are proud to be ISO 14001 certified, underscoring our commitment to environmental management and continuous improvement in reducing our environmental impact.
